Dear Bloggers:

Sorry I haven't been up to date with my blog. I am trying to get a class in In Design and all the classes keep gettting cancelled. So I have decided to have a private class so I can get the information that I really need rather than all the information. I am not really a graphic designer, so I just need to know enough to edit and rearrange my books and CD's.

A couple of weeks ago I had an interesting set of people call my office for a phone consultation. Now, just for those of you who don't know how my office works. I have a huge web page that explains how I work in detail. When someone calls my assistant, he reminds new people that most of their questions about my work can be answered from my web page.

We do this so there is no confusion, as all psychics work differently.

One day, I have two new phone consultations that day, back to back and I start my reading as usual.

Normally I begin with Numerology because it is less threatening. Everyone thinks they understand numbers to a certain extent and so I begin there. It gives me an anchor to just to get a lay of the land. When you understand someones patterns and internal maps then you know how they absorb information as well as what is of most importance to them.

Being psychic is difficult because you can get overwhelmed with too much information. Sorting is a key to being effective and able to cover all the levels and areas of interest for a person.

My sorting pattern (which is explained in my web site) is to begin with Numerology, move to Palmistry, and then Tarot. Each of these systems focus on different aspects of being. Numbers show the past life gifts, how the soul resonates, the karma that is to be learned, and what the person's ultimate destiny is supposed to be.

Palmistry shows what the health of the person is like, how their childhood was, how there money is, if there are job changes coming, how their relationships are, what their family is like, how they learn (either from the heart, head, or body), what they have learned up to this point, and where they tend to focus.

Tarot explains what the present problem is and how to move and grow through that pattern. Tarot shows if this present circumstance is karmic (from past lives), and how your internal self is dealing with it. Tarot shows different outcomes depending on what choices you make or if you are in resistence.

So, back to the story. I am doing this phone consultation and I am doing the numbers and I am trying to explain to this person the problems and patterns they have with their partner. Every few seconds this person is sighing deeply and loudly. After the third time, I comment: "Excuse me, am I boring you? Is something the matter?"

She replies, "I don't want THIS! I want you to just do a psychic reading!"

I explain to her that this is what I am trying to do.

She reiterates that I am just supposed to be psychic. She doesn't want this number thing!

I again calmly try to explain the way I work and why I am doing the reading in this order.

She continues to get frustrated and says that she has already had her numbers done and she knows all of this information already.

Well, I immediately know that I am just not giving her what she wants because my system of numerology is totally unique and different from all the other systems. She had not had this information expressed this way.

I have written a book on the subject and after I had written the book I went and bought 25 books on Numerology just to see if I had plagerized anyone as I believed that my system was a totally new system.

Much to my relief, none of the books were even remotely like mine. In fact, in some cases, mine was totally opposite. In the Kabbalah, the numbers that they have as masculine, I had as feminine, and the reverse was also true.

So rather than get upset, I asked her to give me specific questions that were of importance to her and I would answer them.

She fired back that the only thing she really wanted was to know about her relationship!

I sat back in my chair, because that was exactly what I had been trying to give her before this whole episode began. I had been trying to explain the number patterns of her mate and how that related to her.

What is amazing is that everyone hears differently. I had obviously not used words that she could relate to. She wanted only to know that this relationship was going to work. She didn't want to know anything about herself and her issues within that relationship or if there were patterns that she and he carried that might cause stress or potential problems.

I call this the illusion game. She only wanted validation that everything was going to be perfect and that he was the one.

If she actually believed that she would not have been calling me. I tried to show what was good and what was problematic. She would not hear any warning or part of a conversation that said she might have to watch out for certain personal patterns that might cause problems. She only wanted to hear about him and how wonderful he was and how wonderful their life was going to be.

Needless to say, my job is not to tell someone what they want to hear. My job is to tell them what might happen and how to make appropriate choices that minimize the pain and problems.

I attempted to remain calm everytime she would not hear me. I know when someone does that they are very insecure and not open. This pattern alone will make most sane men run the opposite direction.

So, the entire reading for an hour was a push/pull experience for both of us.

I got off the phone with her and much to my chagrin then next one was the same.

Ugh! I often in those moments wonder if I am doing the correct job. Ha!

Then later that afternoon, someone called that I had read the week before and this is what they said. "Well, last week you told me some things that I didn't like and I want you to do another reading for me and take all those things back!"

Literally, that is what came out of her mouth!

I just took some deep breaths because if any of you don't know how I work, I tend to be very nice and not negative. I have an ability to say challenging things with a lot of gentleness and support. I don't see anything as bad, just an opportunity to learn and grow.

I tried to explain to her that it is not my job to tell you what you want to hear. My job is to give you insight into the future and thereby help you make appropriate choices that assist you along your journey.

That didn't work with her.

I told her that I would do another reading but I could not guarantee that the reading would change.

She then insisted that I was evasive when she had asked some questions.

Again, if you know me, I have never been called evasive in my life. I have been called blunt but I know that I am much less blunt and softer than Sylvia Brown.

So I scheduled her again, and made sure that I had space after her appointment if she went over time wise. My intuition knew that this was going to take a while.

Sure enough, I was right! She came in and I immediately told her that I wanted to make sure the questions that she thought I was being evasive on were addressed directly first.

Well, the end result was that she asked a ton of questions but none of them were anything that we had covered in the previous reading. The reality was that she just wanted more time and information.

At the end of two hours she was out of questions and felt complete. She was happy and I felt redeemed. I pointed out to her that many of the questions she asked had not been asked in the reading before and she reluctently agreed.

People are so funny! Being a psychic is a challenge. Half of the process is being truly psychic and the other half is being able to speak in a way that the person can understand and absorb. You can be correct, but if you cannot get the information through the persons filters, defenses, and screens then if doesn't really matter very much.

It was an interesting week and by the end I was pretty exhausted by it.

People don't understand how their defensive postures make a psychic's job much more difficult. After all, we are human and have our own process to work through each day also. People expect psychics to be 100% on all the time.

That is of course impossible. We all do our best and most of all, try to have compassion for everyone who comes into our presence. Life and psychic readings are a give and take. When everyone is open and aligned, magic can happen. Otherwise it can be energetically draining and exhausting for the psychic if we have to battle your resistance to get the truth to you.

So the next time you are going to a psychic, remember to remain open and allow the process to be magical and unfold in an organic way. Try to silence the defensiveness within and just listen.

If something is true it will resonate or it will trigger your defenses. If you are triggered just remember that something about that statement is probably true and you are in resistence to changing that behavior or pattern.

That is really okay. Just breathe and find the doorway into your personal patterns and allow the possibility of another way to seep into your soul.

I will be teaching a Palmistry Class at the T.A.O. Institute July 29th and 30th. Check my web page for more information at: www.suzwagner.com
