8/24/16 is the number 5. As we are officially in the time of Virgo and the Mutable Earth energy of the Zodiac, I love that we come into the grounded pattern of the number 5. This number points to all things related to body and with it being in Virgo that adds energy and enthusiasm to that feeling. It is time to get into the patterns that help you heal and open your life up to the joys of just being on earth and being human. Remember, that your body is the temple upon which your soul journeys in this life to discover and experience. We have entered into the time of Virgo and so it is time to get back into gear and exercise, eat properly, and to organize the next level of growth that is being offered. We are coming into a time of preparation for the next energy shifts as on the 29th of August Venus goes into Virgo followed ten days later by a Solar Eclipse on Sept 1st (also in Virgo). So get ready for many things to be in the preparation stage for another shift in consciousness over the next few weeks. Right now, Mars aligns with Saturn in Sagittarius this morning, prompting you to take care of responsibilities that may have weighed us down in previous months (some you could have been dealing with since April). You might be noticing where your feelings of being blocked, as your enthusiasm inside meets with a big dose of reality. You could also feel some resentment that things are not moving as quickly as you might like, or that your sense of freedom is somehow blocked or restricted. Work takes on definite shape and the efforts you put forth can lead to excellent results down the road. A plan of action based on your real situation can emerge today and it can be empowering. This gives you a sense of responsibility and a feeling of purposefulness. You might exercise better judgment as a result of circumstances happening now. Traditional methods work better than less conventional ones, and thoroughness brings rewards. Pushing ahead too fast can be costly or could lead to frustration, as "slow and steady" is the only way to go for the time being. Venus opposes Chiron tonight, and disappointments in love relationships can occur now as you focus on the differences and weaknesses rather than the strong points. You are more aware and possibly resentful of imbalances in your relationships. You may be more concerned with whether your affections are returned than with how you are truly feeling. The Last Quarter Moon occurs tonight when the Moon in Gemini forms a square with the Sun in Virgo. This is not the best time to start a major project, as the decreasing light of the Moon symbolizes a descent into unconsciousness. It's time to begin finishing up the details of recent plans and for approaching matters with more maturity and wisdom.

Here in California there is a palpable shift in the energy of the weather, as we turn into the season of Fall. The temperature has cooled down and there is more moisture in the air as the flow of clouds comes in from the marine layer out by the ocean. It is as if the redwood trees are calling to the clouds and the clouds move in to wrap around the trees in their wet embrace. The hummingbirds have multiplied since my trips to many places over the summer and the babies have grown up and are dancing in airy flight in front of my eyes. I even had one land in my hair the other day as I went out to do some much needed weeding. My family of resident skunks came into the yard to nibble on the apples and plums that have fallen to the ground and there is that feeling of change on all fronts.
