Numerology/Astrology for 1/17/15
As today’s date is the number 8. Are you feeling that cranky
pull of the Grand Cardinal Cross as it moves into alignment for its final
squares? Between that and being in the shadow of Mercury as it also prepares to
go retrograde and add to it the Jupiter Retrograde in Leo and it seems to have
put the emotions into a heightened intensity. Just when you felt like you were
getting your feet on solid ground and you wanted to again feel confident in
your choices this energy happens. It is not a full Mercury Retrograde but it
certainly feels like it. Then when you add in the number 8 into the mix it
feels as if you are being pulled into that dark place emotionally that you
thought you had gotten out of. Yes, frustration seems to be the feeling. There
are moments that you just have to do what is in front of you and let go of that
list that you thought you were going to get to. All plans need to be adjusted
now and then. And as much as we would like the world to move in the patterns
that you planned today, you will have to let that go. Remember that when you
come from a place of confidence and personal power then you still feel that you
have a hold of the reins of this wild horse you are on. You are going to have
to make an executive decision based on the practicality and what is being asked
of you in this moment. The game is to keep on keeping on. Your win happens when
you are efficient, trustworthy, and disciplined. The Moon is in Sagittarius all
day, harmonizing with Mercury, Venus and Jupiter. You will feel curious and
independent but also cooperative with others. Intellectual and emotional
honesty are strongly evident today. You will be attracted to new situations of
conquest or adventure and require less prompting than usual to get moving and
to experience life. You may also fully enjoy conversing and exchanging ideas.
Today is anything but mundane so see anything that breaks the routine as
appealing.

Quote
You have the need and the
right to spend part of your life caring for your soul. It is not easy. You have
to resist the demands of the work-oriented, often defensive, element in your
psyche that measures life only in terms of output....how much you
produce....not in terms of the quality of your life experiences. To be a
soulful person means to go against all the pervasive, prove-yourself values of
our culture and instead treasure what is unique and internal and valuable in
yourself and your own personal evolution.

This quote has been one of my great life lessons. I came
from a family of perfectionists and spent so much of my energy and time attempting
to, “Do, do, do!” Thank Goodness I found my amazing husband who had spent much
of his life seeking calmness, nature, and peace. There are moments when you see
the magic of the Universe at work. I can just see my angels recognizing that I
was clueless as to how to relax and just allow life to move me rather than me
move life. At 54 I feel as if I am beginning to understand that. But even for
me the last few days have been about being willing to let go of my schedule and
deal with what is happening in the moment. Most of the moments that I had
planned never materialized in the way or order that I originally thought. I find
that interesting as a doorway to surrender and allow the flow to happen of its
own accord. There are places where I have learned to do that well, especially
if clients forget or need to shift appointments at the last minute. I usually
take that as a message from the angels that I need a break or there is
something that is more important for me to do but the last few days I have been
trying to get so much handled related to taxes, travel, my workshops, the
symposium, etc. and then other things have tried to jump into the mix that were
suddenly a bigger issue or priority. Fortunately, I have learned more and more
to relax into the flow and to not push the river and I just shifted as
gracefully as possible and accepted the moment without my ego being attached to
the way my mind had planned. Give it a try in your life today. Surrender into
what is calling for your attention. Do not be mad. Just let the flow of life
catch you up in its current. When you do not resist life, it shows you a way
that you did not previously see.
