Astrology
for April 2018
Sorry for being late with this month’s article.
I honestly had the time get away from me. I guess I get to blame the Mercury
Retrograde for the delay. At least it is a good excuse.
The seriousness of the Capricorn Moon on Saturday the 7th
is not missed on the fact that we are also in the last 6 weeks of Uranus in
Aries. When Uranus shifted positions so dramatically in 2011, it was at this
point that the "writing on the wall" became clearer as to how Uranus
was going to behave.
That was the moment of the Islamic Revolution and the upset
in Tunisia that ignited the Middle East and continues to unravel the old to
bring in the new.
While figuring out how Uranus is going to behave as it goes
into Taurus is anyone’s guess and it is difficult to predict an unpredictable
planet. As Uranus goes through its death throes in Aries, I want to look at the
positive side of it. And that is the rise of the power of the individual. The
Parkland Students are the most recent example of that. As Uranus comes into
Taurus (and this sign rules all things in the financial world), I imagine the
shifts in the worlds money systems will have a major impact on everyone.
So, begin to prepare now by protecting your financial systems
as much as possible and pay off that debt now so you have some wiggle room
later. Take this moment to reflect on the growth of your individuality because
of Uranus in Aries and notice how you have shifted for good or for bad.
Have you allowed the more negative qualities of Aries to be
dominant? Such as stubbornness, rebellion just for the sake of rebellion
without any logic, plan, or real strategy? Do you feel that you choose being
right over truth? Just look to see how you have utilized this energy. Perhaps
the awareness can give you greater insight and growth as we move into Uranus in
Taurus.
Use Saturday the 7th of April’s Moon in Capricorn
to get things done and to move things into better positions so you can be more graceful
as Venus makes a harmonious trine to Saturn. Look at the long-term goals and
aim that direction because the day to day stuff can be in a great deal of flux.
This is that moment to put in the time to get to the places
at work that your boss and co-workers will notice and you will hopefully be
acknowledged for. Take the time to sort out what you are feeling and what you
really want. Now is the time for level-headedness and cautious planning. The
way to create stable relationships right now is through consistency,
practicality, and showing above all extreme loyalty to those you love and care
for.
Remember, we love those that stick with us through times of
difficulty. None of us can do it alone. We are all going to need each other for
support and clarification as this astrology continues to confuse and convolute.
Right now, it is as if the world has Parkinson's Disease and
there is an instability and shakiness that is requiring a lot of focus and
effort for small things to be accomplished. If we continue with this metaphor,
you want to look at Parkinson’s Disease as a dying process and an aging process
(as most that get Parkinson’s are older). Astrologically, the US chart is in a
dying process of a Pluto transit.
Yes, we are dying. And we are also being reborn.
As a healer and bodyworker for over 30 years I noticed a
particular pattern with the clients with Parkinson’s. As I worked with them for
years and years, what consistently came up for them was a deeply buried anger
that they had hidden and suppressed and that seemed for all of them to be the
root cause for the beginning of the manifestation of this disease. (Again, this
is my experience and not necessarily the consistent norm for everyone but as
the clients spoke this is what they noticed and came to the realization of
without my prompting but my simply asking questions, so they could track energy
in their own body.)
I use this metaphor because it also seems that the US right
now and the world seems very angry. The earth and the animals are angry at the
dysfunction of humanity and the gross negligence for the caring of this
beautiful world. This is a lesson in not getting distracted by the fear and
upheaval that is happening globally. Just remind yourself that you are living a
powerful moment in history and that all transitions of this size and impact
have challenges that everyone will have to weather.
Getting into the nitty gritty details of the
Astrology goes as follows.
If you wait too long and want to file your
taxes at the last minute be sure to double check your work. After all, Mercury
is still retrograde. The Wounded Healer Teacher Chiron moves into Aries on the
17th to support your next level of healing and transformation. Chiron is
briefly in Aries over the summer and then goes retrograde back into Pisces to show
you what is still incomplete from 2011. Slow and steady is going to win the
race right now. If you understand that and take small steps and do not retreat
in the ensuing chaos you will see great progress to your projects in 2019.
Saturn turns retrograde on the April 17th and
continues to make you reflect on your choices and decisions that you have made
up to this point until September 6th. Assume you are going to have to rework
and reconsider quite a few things. Know that this is just how life is. You make
choices and then you have to unravel that matrix and reweave certain patterns
into places of more clarity and ease.
Venus is in Taurus will make you work for it
and work hard. But it will support you in the long run. Venus is in Taurus
until April 24, giving much needed grace which will help in the manifestation
of your emerging dream. When she moves into Gemini on the April 24th you can
expect to have more fun...
Jupiter has been pushing you to go big since
October 2017. But to do that you have to also go deep inside and deal with the
emotional patterns of dysfunction that need to change. Jupiter in Scorpio is
healing and cleansing you on some profound levels. Yes, it might be
uncomfortable but it is necessary.
Saturn continues it saunter through Capricorn
for the next 2 plus years and it is reminding to get grounded, get serious, and
deal with what you have been avoiding in your psyche. It shows you where you have
been frozen and stuck. Saturn forces you to look at the long-term gains or
losses by your actions or inactions.
This is a very good perspective shift that I am
grateful is happening because we have so many in power that only look at their
own short-term gains and how they can bleed this country dry and take all of
its resources for themselves.
Saturn goes retrograde on April 17th
and it reveals some very deep and dark stuff in your core that may not be the
most pleasant to see. This retrograde is essential to make you get back in
control of your financial picture. Pay off the debt, deal with those underlying
health issues that you keep pushing under the rug and learn to hold appropriate
boundaries that support your growth. The next 2 years are going to require
patience and self-discipline.
This month it is time to change your way of
thinking. Chiron in Aries is trying to help you cut a new path in this chaotic
reality. Uranus shifting in May into Taurus is also trying to get everyone into
a more grounded approach to dealing with conflicts and disruptions.
The last time Chiron was in Aries Martin Luther
King was assassinated. Polution in the Cuyahoga River was so severe and toxic
that it caught on fire, and the disease Aids/HIV reared its ugly head. Out of
this trauma and upset came a powerful healing and laws for Civil Rights, clean
energy, and focus on research for medical treatments were rejuvenated. This is
where we are headed regardless of the chaos that our government seems to be
implementing and intentionally provoking fear to attempt to control the
freedoms of this great country. It will not work. The astrology is at least
clear about that.
What is great about this month is that you will
finally have to realize that even if you do not change, the world is changing
drastically around you. And whether you like it or not, whether you resist it
or not the world is taking a new trajectory and those that refuse to move will
be left behind in misery of their own making. Stubbornness will actually not
get you anywhere under these aspects.
Get ready because the real work is about to
begin. It is going to take all that you have been and all that you are to
become to shift with this tide of transformation.
These aspects are going to shift how humanity
wants to live. The high prices and ridiculous costs that make the rich richer
are going to be for some too much and you will see a return to the earth and
simpler ways.
The small house market will boom, and
communities will pop up with friends and family all coming together to share
costs and expenses.
I would love to say that the politics are going
to go to some sort of manageable place but this is a global astrological shift
not just a national one. Therefore, there are going to be a lot more dramas and
upsets before we are done. But Uranus in Taurus bring us back to a more practical
and durable solution rather than this egomaniac, selfish, all about me,
perspective of Aries. I do look forward to that shift.
