Numerology/Astrology for 1/15/16
January 15th is the number 7. The number 7 wants to get organized but the astrology is going to work against you today. Don’t get frustrated. Breathe and do one thing at a time. If I am feeling this way at least I can be thoughtful, understanding of others and move from the place of my persistence of purpose. Do you feel that confusion? Blame Mercury in aspect to Neptune. I personally don’t enjoy this aspect as I feel as if I am trying to get things done but end up feeling like I am wandering around my house in an older persons’ forgetful manner. Double down on the brain herbs today and try to stay on task. Shortly into the day, Mercury forms a semi-square with Neptune. We are not thinking clearly, preferring to daydream. Technical facts can be glossed over at this time. It's not a good time to formalize agreements. The Moon is in Aries all day, and excess energy may be best channeled into physical activity. Energy is fresh and forward-looking. You may want immediate results. If the effect you are making is not exciting enough you might easily drop a project or plan for another one. However, this evening, the Moon harmonizes with Saturn, and this helps you to prioritize.

Quote
In honor of the death of the amazing British Actor, Alan Rickman (aka Professor Snape) I am sharing two of his quotes. Thank you Alan for all the wonderful characters that will live in my memory forever.
“Talent is an accident of genes - and a responsibility.”
“All I want to see from an actor is the intensity and accuracy of their listening.”

I was listening to NPR the other day and I was horrified to hear that Bigotry is the worst now than it has been since the 1960’s. Living in California where things are more integrated I am spoiled because I hope and pray that more often here people are treated as equals. I know that hate exists in the small minds of those people who do not know or understand themselves. I know it is human nature to see the differences rather than the similarities. I know the horror of racism as I was raised in the South during the time of segregation, (Though in my home it was not tolerated and my mother marched in the Martin Luther King parade in Dallas, Texas and was one of very few white women who did.) Having traveled extensively in the world and having had the privilege to meet and talk to people from all over the world I recognize that bigotry is a symptom of uneducated people. Not in the way of books but in the way of experience. When you isolate yourself into a type of society that is too homogenous it becomes easy to see someone with another skin color, another culture, or another root language as different. But inside our core we are all the same. My blood type will save others from other countries regardless of skin color. We all feel the same emotions. We all hurt when ostracized. In my childhood even thought for a time we had segretated schools my family still had friends from other races. My father (who was raised in Brooklyn) brought engineers to Texas because of their skills. They were not even allowed at that time to stay in a hotel so my father had to contact the African-American churches to get housing for them so they could come to apply for contracts to get jobs. My family was also in Texas at the time of the Vietnam refugees and they were horribly ostracized just because of the sentiment from the war. Their language was very different and they had a lot to learn culturally so they could fit in. They were some of the kindest and most peaceful people and they did not want to hurt anyone. They were dealing with their own PTSD from getting out of Vietnam, where many had lost family members. We forget in our fear what others have gone through just to get here. We forget how difficult it is for them to find out how to fit into a very different American culture. I wish that instead of us focusing on our fear, instead we feel into their challenges and their hearts and they struggle for a better life. It is time to lend a helping hand to those who are trying to better themselves not kick them down further. I have lived in another country and I know what it takes to adapt to different cultures and ways of doing things and I can tell you that each day it is scary. Each day, you have to be brave and try again. Each day you will make mistakes. Each day someone will not understand you. If each of us could for one moment get out of our own mindless chatter and see out through another’s eyes, perhaps then we could learn compassion for the rest of humanity.
