Ralfee Finn's Weekly Astrological Report for Jan 25-31, 2012

This is Ralfee's cute picture. Such a nice and loving Leo. Hope you enjoy her insights. Below is Ralfee Finns Weekly Predictions.

The Retro-Zone: Part 2

Nothing moves quickly this week, so put aside expectations of immediate results and instead spend some time adjusting your personal pace to a slower, more deliberate and sometimes hesitant beat. Mars, the planet that symbolizes motion, is seemingly moving behind, instead of ahead, and it’s the first of several planets to place us in the 2012 Retro-Zone. When astrologers say a planet is “retrograde” they mean that it appears to be moving backwards in the sky relative to Earth’s orbital position around the Sun. And although we know retrograde motion is an illusion, the effects often feel all too real. Any planetary retrograde phase is about review, reflection, and reconsideration, and because Mars symbolizes action, many of us will be revisiting a wide variety of previous choices. Unfortunately, neither retrospection nor introspection is a Martian strong suit so don’t be surprised if you’re resistant to examining past decisions. The biggest problem is like to be frustration, yours and others’, as daily life turns into an obstacle course of second-guessing and changing plans. Be sure to set your personal compass on “patience” – we’re all going to need plenty of it to handle the Martian fall out.

Mars Retrograde began on January 23 and continues through April 14. (It actually goes direct close to midnight on April 13.) Approximately every two-plus-years, Mars goes retrograde for approximately two or three months. Mars symbolizes muscle in all its forms, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. For some, that translates into athletics and competition; for others, it’s about heart; for even more, the presence of Mars is experienced as ambition and the need to succeed. From a spiritual perspective, Mars signifies self-actualization, and is best understood as the arms and legs of the ego. Mars is the principle that allows us to differentiate from others and to individuate. It takes Mars 687 Earth days to orbit around the Sun. Add in the time of its retrograde phase, and every two or so years each of us experiences a Mars Return, when it returns to the position it occupied at our moment of birth. The first Mars Return occurs when we’re two years old; it’s the astrological explanation for the terrible twos, when we start saying “no.” And what we mean by that “no” is “I am not you.”

During the next several months of Mars Retrograde, we’re likely to hear a lot of “no’s,” particularly in the political arena, as more and more people regress to the terrible two’s and tantrums replace statements of policy. But Mars Retrograde is also just as likely to inspire mature resistance, and its power is best demonstrated by the ability to take a stand. Given the multitude of injustices in the world that require a strong united “no”, the next few months of Mars Retrograde could inspire an abundance of protests and demonstrations.

As the coming weeks unfold, merging your personal stride with the retrograde rhythm will take skill. And there’s no need to hurry; we’re only in the first week of a many month/many planet retrograde expedition, a celestial trek that’s likely to require almost constant tweaking to find the right attitude, inside and out.

Personal Note from Suzanne 1/22/12

I am writing this on Sunday Jan 22nd, 2012 right before Mars goes retrograde in Virgo on the 23rd. I have been writing a lot of things in anticipation of the slow down that this Mars retrograde is going to create. I thought while I had the energy moving I better run with it.

So I have managed to do the Catalyst articles from February through April, write some blogs, and get the newsletters out the door for the next 3 months. I have also paid some bills ahead and I am still working on the tax stuff for tax time in April.

I love astrology because if I know that something is going to be happening during a more challenging time then I try to be one step ahead of the planets or in the case, one step ahead of the taxes. I know that I better stay on top of it otherwise I will be trying to do everything at the last minute and will must make me angry and frustrated at myself.

That is never a good idea.

My reminder to everyone is to keep a cool head. Make a plan and stick to it. Know that you will run into obstacles under these 6 retrogrades over the next 6 months. It would be wise to anticipate some drama and focus on maintaining a positive attitude. You might feel as if you have to fake it until you make it. That is okay.

Let talk about Mars in Virgo. Virgo is the sign of body, siblings, health, and attention to details. Mars is the planet of energy, conflict, power, and determination. Together they create an interesting pattern when they go retrograde.

For each person it will be different but the places to pay attention to are: conflicts with siblings, bosses, family, health, and work (and therefore money).

For the next four months it would be wise to stop and think before you speak or react. Many people will feel on edge and the slightest upset can tip the balance to the negative.

I am noticing so many people who I have know for over 10 years are emotionally at places that I have never seen them. Many people are feeling intense energetic patterns that they have never felt before. My friends and clients are all speaking to me about how they feel so reactive emotionally. The feedback is that people feel up one minute and down the next.

I include myself in that larger group.

I have also felt challenged to navigate the chaotic chatter and emotional melodrama that my mind and heart seems be manifesting. My reminder to everyone is that you are not alone. These waves of energy that are hitting us are unusual and global.

In such situations it is important to remind yourself that you are feeling things but you are also feeling everyone and everything around you at the same time. That can get confusing as to what is really your emotion and what is the world’s temperament and energetic flow.

We are all one and that connection seems to be strengthening between all of us. Personally I think that is very cool. At least, when I am not getting psychically overwhelmed with the intensity of the global condition.

The swings of emotion are wide and varied. I think this is in anticipation of the Neptune going into Pisces on Feb 3 and 4, 2012. I am trying to flow with it and pretending that I am a part of the ocean and the tidal pulls of the moon are full and deep right now.

We are learning how to become so much more aware of our world. We are stretching in ways that are challenging us to use more of our brain and energy. This is the largest growth edge I have seen in my lifetime, as it seems to be affecting everyone in his or her own personal and unique ways.

I do trust that each individual has within them their own internal map to navigate this moment. If they just go within they will find the answers they seek.

I write these articles not under the belief that I can masterfully guide all of you on your unique and personal journey at this time but to attempt to place signs and markers along the roads you are traveling to help you not feel afraid and lost.

I find that when I understand things from a wider overview perspective then I step out of the narrow perception of just my small self and issues. When I allow myself to expand and see things from an overview then I begin to understand that something greater is happening. It is not always just about me. When I step out of a narrow perspective, I see that problems and challenges in my life are not "God" trying to make me miserable but the divine expanding everyone simultaneously to create a major shift in awareness.

I see the wonder and miracle that it is to be alive on the planet at this time. I see this moment as an incredible gift to be a witness at such an awakening of consciousness. Then I want to participant in the way that the universe designed for me to assist.

The job is just for me to become aware of what the universe needs from me moment to moment. I do not always need to know. I just need to be open to the flow that is happening all around. I just need to trust my heart and connect to others when I feel pulled or compelled to help.

Somehow that feels so much simpler than to feel that I need to know everything in every moment.

I thank all of you for reading my musings and allowing me to give my gifts in simple and humble ways.

Intuitive Patterns for the Month of February 2012

We have finally made it to the amazing coming of Neptune in Pisces on Feb 3-4, 2012. All the Pisces should be breathing a collective sigh of relief for the first time in a very long time. For the next 13 years the watery, boundry-less expansion of love and consciousness becomes the norm and pattern that the universe is attempting to get us to understand how to expand in the ways of perceiving and connecting with others.

I think it was perfect that I picked the Whale in the Medicine Cards for this month. I have been using the whale metaphor in trying to explain the energetic and emotional overload that so many have been feeling.

The whale is intimately aware of everything in its domain. Water conducts sound better than air and because of that anything that lives in the ocean is constantly bombarded with a cacophony of noises and information. The water signs should navigate this pattern better than perhaps some of the other signs but we will all learn and adapt as we go along. So many of us are feeling an emotional intensity and overwhelm that is vastly different than in previous times.

The crux of the matter is that we are all going to expand emotionally and spiritually. We are going to learn more about compassion and acceptance than ever before. This is a wonderful positive influence that Neptune in Pisces brings. I find that spiritual lessons are sometimes more challenging than say, making money. I think it is because of the esoteric principals that need to be learned, understood, and then finally merged with inside. This creates stages of mental development, emotional integration, and finally physical enlightened perspective.

I find that everyone seems to be searching for some type of clarity. Many feel lost and uncertain as to which way to go in their life. Chaos is the universes first wave to change. Without chaos internally, externally, and spiritually we might not move very well. We would be complacent and not need to find innovative thinking or ways to grow.

Well, I doubt any of you would say that you are feeling complacent right now. These astrological energies have felt like an itch that we cannot seem to scratch and the irritation is forcing us to move. Much like mosquitoes make the reindeer constantly be on the move to search for new food. It may feel like a never ending race. But life is about movement and if you do not move you slowly begin to die. So the universe is making this a time to change and leave the old safe grounds of our reality and we are embarking on a new adventure. The good news is that none of us are alone in this pattern. We can be of great support to each other if we just remember to stay compassionately connected and loving.

February should feel as if a bell has sounded and you are breaking out of dysfunctional patterns that have allowed you to be stuck for quite some time. In the silence that follows the shattering of the old reality you will begin to see the new vision that has been forming on the periphery of your reality. That is because an idea is stalking you. And it is an idea whose time has come.

Then comes the next problem. That new perception does not seem to fit into the old identity of self. The question becomes, “Do I stick to the old limiting perspective or do I take the risk and go for my dream?”

The answer should be obvious. Go for the dream. What do you have to loose? We have been all trying to make things work that are outmoded or are no longer functioning in our world. Change is now the necessity. Do you really want to hold on to that old pain and disappointment? Of course not! But none of us can do it alone. We are all going to need others to help and give us feedback. Just remember to pick those who want you to be the best person you can be and not those who want mold you into what they need and want.

Again, use the ocean metaphor. But in this moment be a dolphin. A dolphin can hear a human in distress and from miles away will come to the rescue of a person, just because they are aware of that persons’ situation.

This takes us to the next truth of February, “If you are aware of someone suffering or in distress check to see if it is your soul’s compassionate choice to help”. As we are within a water element we are going to become more and more aware of the slightest sounds and nuances. It may feel overwhelming.

You are not obligated to fix everyone and everything. That would be impossible. But you must feel into each situation in such a way that you connect from the heart and then it is the hearts voice of compassion that will move you in the direction of the truth for you in that moment.

We are all going to be learning strategies to navigate these deep waters. But again, you are not alone. Uranus in Aries is about the expansion of the voice of the individual but those unique and individual voices need to come together, get organized, and make the changes. No one can do it all alone anymore. We are going to need each person’s tools, skills, and wisdom to create this new world that wants to unfold. Don’t be afraid! Just try! Let go of competition and just be your authentic self. Listen to the guidance from the divine but remember that the divine also speaks through those that we trust and those that love us.

Stay open.

Remember you are here to love and let the dreams within lift you up to a shift in realms that you never believed possible.

The Pathway to Peace-Trust, Patience, and the Practice of Love

2011 into 2012 has been an amazing lesson in the principals of trust, patience, and the practice of love. As this challenging astrology has unfolded I must admit that I pulled out every tool in my toolbox and went in dire search for more. I am so grateful that my life has been an exploration into the technologies of consciousness and awareness. If ever there was a time when I needed tools and techniques to navigate, it was this last two years.

I have learned that the universe does not really make mistakes. If I keep to that principal then I am able to trust that what comes my way is ultimately for my own growth and evolution. But trust is difficult when the illusions in which we have based parts of our reality suddenly dissolve like salt into water.

I believe that the universe throws us curve balls to wake us up and to show us the limitations of our creations. It is easy to trust when things are going smoothly but it is very difficult when situation after situation is in constant flux.

Then the question becomes, “How do I trust when everything is changing so much that I do not know where to stand? When we feel as if we are on unstable ground, where do we step that will allow us to feel safe and secure again? What do we do?”

The answer is to risk. There really is no other choice. Or as Spock would say, “I will make my best guess that I can possibly make.”

We live in a world of perceived absolutes. (Notice the word “perceived” in that sentence.) This is not the only reality. Lets just start with how many people are on the planet and how many minds are focusing on vastly different interests and situations. Those individual minds are interested in certain things and as such will focus a majority of their time and energy into the places and things that are of interest to them. But in doing so they often miss other things that are happening in the vicinity that are right in front of them. Then someone else will notice that thing and then that second person will not be aware of some other amazing aspect of life that another will see. And it goes on and on, endlessly.

I am sure it would be almost impossible at this stage of my evolution to become completely aware of the amazing nuances that are in every moment of life. The vastness of universal mind is infinite.

I believe that universal mind does some wild and wacky things to make us shift our perception every once in a while. And then there are the times, like now, that the universal mind wants to shift everyone all at once. Not in the same way, (How boring would that be?) but in the way that causes a rapid expansion of consciousness that is beneficial to all.

That is what my limited awareness seems to perceive. I have seen so many people who are situationally being forced, coaxed, pushed, and prodded into another way of being. Whether they like it, want to, ask for it, or not.

It is in those moments that the only solace I can find is to believe that there is some grand order that I am not able to understand in that moment.

When can stand in that place, then I find the courage and strength to move and to keep on keeping on.

That then leads me to the place of patience. It is not about having patience with: God, the situation, money, time, the angels, etc. It is about having patience within myself.

Personally I find that the most difficult.

I hold myself to a standard that is ridiculously impossible at times.

I believe we all do.

Why would we hold such a difficult standard to attain? Because we all want to be worthy. For each of us “what we want to be worthy for” is different. For some of us it is about being worthy of Gods love, worthy of intimate love, worthy of great wealth, worthy of fame, worthy of feeling happy, etc.

Why do we not feel worthy?

I find for myself it is about not believing that I can trust myself. I know my mistakes, my failings, and my negative thoughts. If I cannot trust my essence how can I find the place to be patient with myself?

I used to think that patience was a natural outcome once you became enlightened. Now I think that patience is something that you constantly work on and is earned over time.

Within patience there is a trust in the natural order of things. A belief that there is a rhythm and flow to all life. We see it everywhere if we are paying attention. Nature is the great silent instructor. Every animal and plant knows that there is Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. There is a consistent order that we would just step back and witness the truth of the moment in which we are in. You never pick the flowers off a fruit tree in the Spring because you would not have fruit in the Summer and Fall. It is logical.

Then why do we think that we can dream a dream and instantly have that dream manifested? Oh, you can try but if that is outside of the natural order then you have to plant the seed and then wait. There is no need to fret or worry. It either will grow or it won’t. If it does not then we need to have more information about how to make that dream grow and fruit.

It is about trusting yourself to be able to figure out something that will eventually work. If I trust myself then I will naturally come to a place of having patience with myself.

If I am in the natural flow of life, there is no need to strive or rush. The natural response is patience.

There is always a need to stay conscious, aware, and to observe to find new more efficient ways. It is human nature to be curious and to want to understand and to know.

That is all wonderful.

In that moment all that is required is for us to understand ourselves, our own natural flow, and the circumstances in which we are placed. The next step is to find solutions to the problems being presented and then know that the universe will always create shifts eventually. But it is never in the tempo of what our mind wants. It all has to be in balance with everything and everyone around us.

Which takes us to the third pattern. The practice of love. The conclusion I have come to is that since everything is not under our control anyway and I have to trust the divine, trust myself to find the answers, learn the rhythm of the natural order, thus becoming more and more patient with the awareness that this moment is perfect and divine, then there is a newfound confidence that everything is flowing as it should. I can relax and find how to just be love.

People think that love is “falling in love”, that it is sudden, electric, spontaneous, exciting, and rare. But love is deeper and vaster than the energy that we experience as “romantic love”. The practice of love should be the basis for our life.

How can we become the walking reflection of loves presence in every moment?

Answer: It takes practice.

Which is why I say the “Practice of love”. Love is easy when it is sudden and spontaneous. But love is challenging when situations and people are being difficult. That is when you are truly practicing to be the embodiment of love. Love stretches you to go beyond your judgments. Love makes you let go of what your minds limited definition of love actually is. Love makes you get out of your comfort zone. Love is the magical ingredient that makes food art.

Love is passionate, persistent, determined. Love breaks you out of your comfort zone. Love is anything but comfortable.

Is your love big enough to embrace every situation as perfect? You do not need to know or understand. You just need to be loves presence.

Too often we think love is about getting our needs met. That is a form of love but love has a depth and breath that can take you beyond the stars if you choose.

As we evolve, we think love is about sharing and compromise. Again this is another mask that love wears. But love has faces that are infinite and diverse. Just look around at anyone in your life. They are all the faces of love. It becomes a discipline of practice to see and witness them all as the face of divine love in this moment.

The moment you recognize that you can see them as love if you choose to, everything changes. The differences go away. It is no longer about the “Me”. It just is. And that is-ness is magical. Separation goes away, differences dissolve, suffering shifts, and acceptance becomes the pathway to peace.

Ralfee Finn's Weekly Astrological Report for Jan 18-24, 2012

Weekly Frequency
January 18-24, 2012

The Retro-Zone: Part 1
We’re entering the Retro-Zone this week (and if this column came with sound effects, you’d hear the theme from The Twilight Zone or the sci-fi ringtone on the iPhone as you read along). On January 23, Mars begins a review that is the first in a series of planetary retrogrades that will last for nearly eight months. (I heard that “ouch.”) As each of the inner planets — Mars, Mercury, and Venus — makes a retrospective journey, it won’t even be a stretch to think of the coming months as an excursion into alternate dimensions of “sound, sight, and mind,” as The Twilight Zone puts it. And because Mars, Mercury, and Venus drive the mechanics of regular routines, when their backward motion overlaps (as it does this year), daily life resembles a “land of shadow and substance,” where the edges of “things and ideas” meet in the vast terrain of the imagination.

Frustration is the most obvious danger in the Retro-Zone, and even though we are only on the threshold, for the next several days, as Mars starts to slow down in preparation for its “turn-around,” moods are apt to reflect the change of pace. Pay attention: For most of the next eight months, nothing is going to move forward smoothly, a condition that will easily fuel meltdowns at all levels of emotional and psychic intensity. Mars signifies self-assertion, and because anger and rage can be found on the negative side of the assertive spectrum, plenty of people are going to be steaming about a plethora of delays and detours. Patience is the obvious antidote, but finding patience and holding on to it will take extra effort.

Another likely dimension of Mars Retrograde is an exasperating focus on minutiae. Mars goes retrograde in Virgo, the Sign commonly known for its obsession with detail. And certainly during this retrograde we will all be looking at every little feature of every little thing (until we can’t stand to look any longer). Please remember to be kind as you sweat the small stuff; most of us make mistakes, and what transforms those errors into lessons is the ability to groan and then to grow.

But don’t discount Virgo as merely the Sign of the Fussbudgets. Virgo’s deepest current is the recognition of an abiding interconnectedness. Pisces, Virgo’s opposite and complementary Sign, always gets the kudos for its mystical urges, but Virgo is no less mystically inclined. Virgo is the Sign where we recognize the sacred in its particulars; it’s the birthplace of ecology, where the interrelatedness of all forms of life is recognized and honored through service to all living beings. As part of its retrospective, Mars invites each of us to look at how we are connected. For some, that inquiry could translate into the need to establish new, stronger bonds. For others, old ties that no longer serve are likely to be severed.

At the core of Virgo lies the idea of an organic connection that unites all living beings, and as Mars lingers in Virgo for the next five and a half months, many hearts might be moved toward greater awareness of what unites us, as well as an increased desire to be of service to our fellow travelers.

Ralfee Finn's Weekly Astrological Report for Jan 11-17, 2012

Weekly Frequency By Ralfee Finn, Astrologer
January 11-17, 2012

So many predictions have been made about 2012, and so many of those prognostications seem so dire, I’ve been avoiding adding to the load. I often scan the news to see what’s bubbled to the surface during the transition from one year to the next, and it’s clear from recent headlines that we don’t need astrologers to tell us that we’re entering a pivotal year: 2012 is an election year in the United States, and many, if not most, of our elected officials still seem to be more interested in the power of the sound byte than the actual concerns of their constituents, a condition that tends to translate into false accusations and misinformation blaring so loudly and so constantly it’s easy to mistake the noise of media manipulation for reality. It’s also a condition that we have brought into being by our collective acceptance that sound bytes and staccato bits of information are the way to go – Twitter, anyone?

We also don’t need astrologers to tell us that we are still in the financial soup. The economy may show signs of health, but no one is talking about the credit card debt that still leaves many people gasping for air, the commercial real estate situation, the plight of students, the foreclosure miasma that is still given lip service and has devastated so many lives, or the unemployment disaster that continues to destroy so many lives. Health care is not only still a problem, but has never been so clearly the emblem of a much bigger issue: Many of us have forgotten to care about each other, and the common sense that would allow that concern has fallen out of fashion. Where is the reality TV show that demonstrates the benefits of kindness and makes altruism glamorous? Whenever I see a commercial for The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, I wonder what was it that tipped the scale of value to such an extreme that the perfection of form has so completely supplanted the significance of substance.

From an astrological perspective, there’s no telling what’s going to transpire this year because 2012 is a portal into several years of dynamic change, with Uranus, the planet of surprising plot twists leading the way, and Pluto, the symbol of change at the core, following just a hair’s breadth behind. When these two planetary archetypes unite in any arrangement, we experience profound upheaval. Time may have chosen the protestor as the 2011 person of the year, but last year’s turmoil was merely the tip of the collective iceberg. Yet as history evidences, the upheaval Uranus and Pluto symbolize is not necessarily negative; their interactions signify multidimensional revolutions that focus on issues of personal freedom as well as social justice.

So here are my predictions for 2012: “Social conscience” is its mantra. And while not everyone will be interested in chanting those words, one of this year’s red threads is recognizing where and when personal interests and collective concerns meet. Be aware: This mantra is a call to evolution, and while it’s not a new call, some of us will be feeling its necessity for the first time. Even experienced revolutionaries will need to take an inventory. There’s no longer room for polarization and exclusion. The success of humanity’s next dimensional leap depends on our ability to include the needs of all sentient beings. The only lasting revolution is evolution.

More about Mars Retrograde Jan 23-April 13, 2012

I thought I might just give a head's up to the Mars retrograde from Jan 23 through April 13th, 2012. Mars has been slowing down in the sky since Nov 18th and that has caused many of us to re-assess situations, people, circumstances, choices, and how we are approaching out life.

When Mars is moving forward we feel strong, energized, direct, full of energy, and willing to take action. When Mars goes in reverse it makes that energy go more internal, personal, and can make us put pressure on ourselves. We sometimes feel unsure and we will tend to not trust our instincts. On the good side Mars retrograde forces us to look at our reactiveness, our anger, our sexuality, and makes us choose new directions for our life. It allows us to take a serious look before we leap, at least in the time of the retrograde. We might feel more tired and need more sleep. We might need to slow down and be more careful. It is time to do a reality check and be very honest with what we are feeling internally.

You might feel less confident. You might be unsure as to what and who you have faith in. Projects might feel as if they hit snags and go more slowly than you want.

Try to not let the delays create anxiety and stress. There are times when things will just take more effort. Go slow. Take one thing at a time. Don't get discouraged. Look within and be patient with yourself and others. Everyone will be feeling this energy so know that your frustration is actually being felt by everyone in different ways. Practice compassion and use this energy to tell yourself the truth about what you want and where you want to go in the future.

We always wish that things would move easily but often it is these moments when life is challenging that we gather our courage and set our focus towards a more authentic expression. Ultimately that is a good thing. When we finally come to terms with the fact that some situation in our life is not enough, then we muster our forces and make changes.

Ralfee Finn's Weekly Astrological Report for Jan 4-10, 2012

Wow! I love this image. It is of Mars going retrograde in the sky and what it looks like to us. So get ready everyone as it looks like we are all going to get tied up in a knot for a period of time. I love to have a heads up so I can stay calm and not overreact to situations that show up. I love astrology because it reminds me that often situations are not personal. It is just the process. The ups and downs are a natural occurrence of the dance of life. So take some deep breaths and know that we are all in this together to learn to have patience, compassion, and acceptance of the amazing journey that we are all on.

Here is Ralfee's Article. Enjoy!

It’s a “hit-the-ground-running” start to the New Year, and like birds gathering seed before a storm many of us are going to be collecting the threads of a variety of plans and projects. There’s little more than two weeks left before we enter the retro-zone, an approximately seven-month period of seemingly endless retrogrades that will have most of us attending to the details of whatever we forget to take care of now. Even if you manage to jump the gun, you’re still going to need to pace yourself for the next couple of weeks. There’s no use showing up for what promises to be a strenuous period exhausted from the preparations. The good news is that there is plenty of positive planetary support for stamina and strength, as well as a strong spirit of cooperation. If you don’t have anything that needs your attention, ride the current of the next couple of weeks by pitching in where help might be needed. For those anxious about getting everything done, there’s nothing like a helping hand to soothe stress and lessen tension.

The source of strength this week is a Mars/Sun trine, a vital, vigorous configuration that supports ambition, determination, courage, and intentional activity. Even if you are not inclined toward competition, this is the astrological partnership that’s sure to make you want to win. Mars symbolizes action, and is believed to rule the muscular system. The Sun represents our essential vitality, and when the Sun and Mars work together, we experience surges of physical power. Put this dynamism to work by applying it to all those areas in your life that could use a nudge. Especially put your body in motion: Run. Walk. Hike. Stretch. Swim. Just move, and make the most of it, because by the 20th, when Mars prepares for its retrograde phase, very little is going to move easily.

Mars goes retrograde on January 23, in Virgo, at 23 degrees, and stays retrograde until April 13, when it goes direct, also in Virgo, at 3 degrees. Mars thrives on forward movement, and when it seems to be lagging behind, as it does during a retrograde, we experience all sorts of Martian challenges, challenges that range from mildly impatient frustration to absolutely unbearable frustration. (Not kidding.) And because Mars represents the warrior, as the retrograde seems to stall plans and projects, many of us could feel inclined to up the ante by getting angry in all sorts of situations where we feel stuck, blocked, or impeded in our process. But don’t misunderstand. While Mars Retrograde might bring out the devil in some of us, Mars Retrograde is not the devil. And while Mars may not like retracing its past, we can certainly benefit from the review.

During the next several weeks, utilize the positive planetary support of the Sun/Mars trine to stay focused on all the things in your life that are related to movement – cars, trucks, buses, bikes, shoes, skates, skate boards, and schedules of every denomination. Push, but not to the brink of exhaustion. Most importantly, start practicing patience for yourself and your fellow travelers.

Welcoming in 2012!

Thank goodness we have made it to 2012. I think this is a year of creating a positive intention no matter what the world decides to throw at you. Have compassion for your fellow conscious travelers and try to have a sense of humor that the complex twists and turns that 2012 is going to bring. Remember that growing pains are just that sometimes. A pain. It is how we respond to that pain that makes all the difference.

I remember being a child with a broken ankle that was in a cast. The leg swelled up so much that I was in agony from the pressure behind the cast.

But I was a child and I did not have any emotional baggage around it. It was just pain. I find I can deal with pain, it is the emotional overlay that I put on things and the meaning that my brain wants to give me as to why I am experiencing that pain that is the real problem.

So this year when you experience something that causes any pain, try not to make up a story about why it is happening. Just know that the universe goes up and down and that these are just experiences that we all have. We are all in this journey together and we are all going to respond to the astrological patterns in our own unique way based on what we need to learn and how we need to grow and expand.

Stay in a place of overview, love, and acceptance of everyone in your life and we can turn this world into something magical and wondrous.
